How Do I Find Biographies of Notable Figures?
|
- Biography Resource Center is a continually updated source of information on important and notable figures.
- Start with the e-resources link on the top menu of many library webpages.
- Click on Biography under Research by Subject and then choose Biography Resource Center.
- You may search by category such as Summer Olympians or by Biographical Facts which offers choices including occupation and nationality.
- Another way to search is to type a name or part of a name in the search box on the right.
- Your search results will be placed under tabs. Biographies is the tab that opens first, but you can choose information from another tab, including Brief Biographies or Websites, by clicking on it.

- To read an article, click on a blue underlined title and get the full-text.
- Some notable figures will have an *EXTRA Recent Update* box under their image.

- For more detailed information on how to successfully use the Biography Resource Center, go to the top menu and choose help. You can learn techniques for searching Biography Resource Center, a list of sources used, and how to use tools provided, such as InfoMarks.
