The Livermore READ Project

Free, confidential One-To-One Tutoring in reading is available.

Who We Are

THE Livermore READ Project provides instruction in both basic literacy and English as a Second Language. Since October, 1986 over 2200 adult learners have been helped by our tutors.

Who Qualifies

Adults over 16 who read below the 8th grade level and are no longer attending school in grades K-12. Learners must be permanent residents of the U.S.

Who Tutors

Volunteers who are trained by Read Project staff.

Where

Student/tutor pairs choose from many local sites throughout the Tri-Valley.

When

Tutors and students meet once or twice a week for 1-2 hour sessions at a mutually convenient time and place.

How Much

Tutoring and all necessary materials and services are free of charge.
