Business Retention & Expansion Team
The Business Retention & Expansion Team consists of participants from the City, the Chamber of Commerce, and Livermore Downtown that meet with existing businesses to learn how it can help and serve existing businesses. City assistance includes cutting through red tape, training needs, and attracting complementary businesses.
Storefront Improvement Loan Program
The Agency offers financial assistance to small businesses within the redevelopment area to improve the facades of their property and enhance property appearances. This program provides loans to eligible business or property owners for up to $25,000. To apply, call Livermore Downtown, (925) 373-1795 or Bank of Walnut Creek, (925) 373-3811.
Employee Recruitment and Training Incentives
The Economic Development Department staff will assist with applications to the State of California's Employment Training Panel (ETP) program, which provides recruitment and screening services for qualified companies, including providing a pool of qualified applicants for your consideration. Some of the benefits include reimbursement from the State for job training costs, including the salaries of trainers and the cost of books, materials and training equipment. While exact reimbursement varies with each company, the typical reimbursement averages $2,300 per employee.
Permit Fee Incentives
Your construction project may be eligible for payment of sanitary, sewer connection fees, and traffic impact fees at the end of construction instead of the start of construction. Development Fee Schedules can be determined at this City web page.
Recycling Loan Fund
If your business will divert, reduce, or use waste from the local area waste stream, your project may be eligible for loans up to $125,000 from the Alameda County Recycling Board.
