Filter Improvements – City Project No. 1998-51
This project will renovate the existing filters and construct a new flocculation tank. These improvements will allow increased recycled water production at the Water Reclamation Plant. The contract was awarded to Overaa Construction in July 2009 and work began in August 2009. The project is scheduled for completion in May 2010.

Water Reclamation Plant Laboratory, Offices and Shops - City Project No. 2000-79
This project will construct a new 7,900 square foot laboratory and source control building at the Water Reclamation Plant. The project was awarded to San Jose Construction. Project completion is scheduled for October 2010.

Water Reclamation Plant Parking Improvements - City Project No. 2008-71
This project will construct new visitor and employee parking spaces at the Water Reclamation Plant. McNabb Construction was awarded the project in November 2009, began construction in February 2010, and is scheduled to complete construction in May 2010.

Water Reclamation Plant Phase VI Expansion – City Project No. 1998-49
This project will expand the Plant’s treatment capacity from 8.5 million gallons per day to 9.5 million gallons per day, the projected General Plan build-out sewer flow. This project will be phased over the next six years. The first phase involves installing gravity belt thickeners Bids were opened for the first phase on February 24, 2010 with C. Overaa & Co. submitting the lowest responsive bid. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2010 and run through June 2011. Additional out-year improvements include constructing an acid-phase digester, a methane-phase digester, holding tank renovations, and heat loop modifications. The holding tank renovations are scheduled to bid during the summer of 2010.

Facility Fencing Project – City Project No. 2006-50
This project includes installing fencing around various City facilities. Bids were opened for this project in December 2009. Crusader Fence Co. will be awarded the construction contract in March 2010. Construction is scheduled to begin in April and be completed by August 2010.

Industrial Trunkline Replacement - City Project No. 1997-57
This project includes replacing a section of the industrial trunkline at a crossing under the UPRR tracks, east of the First Street overpass, and lining approximately 6,200 linear feet of the industrial trunkline on the north side of the UPRR tracks between North mines Rd. and Junction Ave. The 30" unlined RCP industrial trunkline is over 40 years old and is susceptible to hydrogern sulfide corrosion. Additionally the trunkline segment that crosses under the railroad tracks has settled causing a solids buildup. This project will alleviate these problems. The condition of the trunkline has been evaluated. The engineer, Winzler and Kelly, prepared a technical memo recommending repairs. The project is scheduled to go out to bid in late 2010.

Water Reclamation Plant Electrical Distribution Improvements- City Project No. 2008-48
This project consists of upgrading the electrical distribution system at the City’s Water Reclamation Plant. Improvements include replacing and upsizing the 21 KV switch and fuse sections, transformers, main 480V switchboards, and the feeder cables between the 21 KV switchgear, transformers, and switchboards. Improvements also include replacing the feeder cables between the new double ended 480 V substation and the critical motor control centers around the plant and installing an emergency generator and connecting it to the new switchboard. Carollo Engineers is currently preparing 90% plans for the City. The project is scheduled to bid by Summer 2010.
