Duties and Responsibilities

The primary responsibility of the Committee is to make recommendations to the City Council and the Planning Commission based on the review of issues such as water conservation, treatment and disposal; energy conservation and alternatives; solid and hazardous waste recycling, reduction, treatment and disposal; and reduction of environmental and energy impacts related to transportation. Additional areas of responsibility include conservation of natural resources, pollution and its prevention, and environmental regulations.
