Dedicated men and women
who volunteer their time and services to help make the city of Livermore a
safer place to live and work. Volunteers enable the police department to expand
and enhance our services to the community.
Currently we have (13)
V.I.P.S. assigned to administrative duties that include: Crime Prevention,
Crime Analysis, Records and Traffic.
Our V.I.P.S. are trained
through the Citizen Academy, which give them a basic overview of the Police
Department and how it functions. Once they become volunteers they are given
specialized training in their specific positions. All of our volunteers are
given the opportunity to participate in special events.
The process of becoming
a V.I.P.S. begins with a phone call to the Volunteer Coordinator and a short
interview. You will need to fill out a city application and complete a background
check that includes a drug screen and a polygraph.
Our administrative V.I.P.S.
are given polo shirts to wear while working and must provide tan pants and
appropriate shoes.
If you are interested
in becoming a V.I.P.S. member please contact the Volunteer Coordinator:
