Zoning and Land Use

Throughout the City of Livermore there are many different types of land uses.  Auto dealerships, manufacturing, restaurants, retail merchants, gas stations, grocery stores and movie theaters are just a few of the wide variety of services and uses found in our city.  The City of Livermore is divided into use zones or districts each with specific limitations and regulations for the uses allowed within each district.  The Neighborhood Preservation Section often works closely with other city departments in dealing with complaints of various zoning violations in the established districts.  Neighborhood Preservation deals with complaints ranging from illegal home occupations to encroachments onto public property and other zoning code violations.
